British Library

An extensive collection of books and periodicals, including educational periodicals (such as Look and Learn and Monthly Film Strip Review), company catalogues and guides for filmstrip producers and operators. While the British Library does not hold many filmstrips, it does offer a significant number of the accompanying commentary booklets. A number of these were produced for particular government departments and campaigns, while the leading British filmstrip producers of the 1940s and 50s, such as Common Ground, British Instructional Films, and the Daily Mail School-Aid Department, are also well represented.
