Alongside an extensive selection of manuals, periodicals and company catalogues, the NLS holds a range of government filmstrips, with accompanying lecture notes. These include the Ministry of Education school meals series (GEA.11), an extensive collection of post-war filmstrips made by the Colonial Office for exhibition across the British Empire (GCF.16) as well as filmstrip collections from the National Parks Commission (GNB.6) and the Home Office Fire Department (GHD.40). It also holds a significant collection of religious filmstrips, notably within its collections from the Church of Scotland Department of World Missions Board, which have a particular emphasis on missionary activities overseas.
